J.E. Afful brings a wealth of experience to TranscEnDence Educational Partners. Having years of expertise in Management/Leadership Consulting in public and private sectors, John brings to bear a wide-range of experience to the work of the education consulting organization. With proven experience managing an HR Department with an annual budget of three million dollars, where he held leadership and management oversite and responsibility for benefits, recruiting, training, wellness, employee relations and vendor management.

John began his career with Gannett, one of America’s biggest media companies. During his tenure there he played significant roles in shaping their Diversity Task Force and the Process Improvement Task Force. John also supported General Motors I.T. Department in overseeing operations management for the corporation through a staff augmentation within the Solution Center at Capgemini.

John has served in roles with BPO Management, Project Coordination, Policy and Procedure Development, Client Relationships, Recruiting, and Diversity Administration. He is highly accomplished in directing, influencing, and motivating others to deliver high quality products and services. John has also successfully managed numerous projects and led teams in the analysis of business requirements, system development and implementation.

John brings to TranscEnDence a depth and breadth of experience as a Senior Management Consultant with a vast amount of experience in curriculum development, business processes, organizational development, parenting in the new millennium, and job recruitment. Serving in the role of Chief Human Resource, Talent & Leadership Officer, TranscEnDence will leverage John’s expertise in leading the strategic advising division for district and charter schools across the country. He will lead TranscEnDence’s work of tooling districts and schools to strengthen their organizational systems and processes through an emphasis on human capital development, management structures, and the creation of accountability systems inclusive of scorecards, benchmarks of progress, and other Human Resource processes.

John is also a published author. In his leadership book entitled, “The Five Roads to Power”, he candidly points out that there are different roads to power that are selected and determined by the different goals one wants to achieve. John reveals the one thing consistent with power in that it is not freely given. It is only released, taken, or followed depending on the overall objectives for that particular type of power. Whether it is in business, family, or relationships, there are Five Roads to Power that are used within them all.

John resides in Los Angeles, California with his wife Pauletia and their four children.
